This is a close up of my contact lens in the cleaning solution. The solution is perxoide based. It really bubbles a lot when my allergies are acting up – like they are now!

More photos from the snowy South! We got snow, then a sleet and snow mix last night, so it looks like snow but is crunchy when you walk on it. About 4 to 5 inches accumulation where I live. I couldn’t pick just one photo again today….Here’s one of the ice on my mailbox. Notice it’s on the front from the blowing wind – put a layer of this on the road and you are in for an adventure! There is also snow on the top of the mailbox and ice about a third of the way down each side. The second is of a bunch of acorn hulls on the snow. I guess the squirrels remembered where they buried the emergency supplies. The third is icicles hanging of the corner of the house – you could put an eye out with one of these if it fell off!

Today was a better day, still gloomy in many ways. I did have a fun evening attending a seminar by Mike Larson hosted by our local PUG group. He had some great advice for photographers. If you get a chance, go see him. The weather here is still dreary. Forecast is looking bad for the end of the week, but ice – if we get it - might make for some interesting photos and a work from home day!
I didn’t get to make a lot of photos today since I was at the seminar. This one is of a “micro encapsulated age-defying” potion….a.k.a. a macro shot of the mosturizer I use on my face. I like the way the light hits the little pearls of the “secret formula”. Wonder what’s in them….hmmm….probably more of the same stuff that’s in the bottle.

When I woke up this morning it was very foggy. When I checked Twitter, there was a tweet by Scott Bourne about how to shoot in the fog. I decided that was a sign I needed to get out and shoot. It amazes me the way the fog can make you feel. Sometimes it has a mysterious quality because things seem hidden in the mist. Sometimes it is gloomy and turns the real world to black and white. The bluebird I came across as the fog was burning off threw a little welcome color into the otherwise gray morning. I couldn’t pick a favorite today.

Today was another rainy day. I stayed in most of the day. Earlier today I colored my hair (I know, you thought it was naturally red…LOL…). Every time I rinse the color out of my hair I’m reminded of the shower scene from Psycho. I took a few photos of the color running to the drain in the bathtub and converted them to B&W. I was pleased with the result, but decided it might not be the best thing to post for my daily photo. If anyone really wants to see it, let me know and I might post it.
When the rain let up, I went outside and took some shots in the backyard. I decided to post one of those. I liked the way the water was hanging on the little buds on branches. Almost to the point of falling off, but not quite there yet.

I was at a friend’s late last night and didn’t get this posted for yesterday. Better late than never. Yesterday was a dreary, rainy day. I took several shots with my Canon Powershot A520 through the car windows, focusing on the rain drops and letting the background blur.
