A beautiful sunset from a recent Sunday drive.

Oh the golden light of evening! When I took my granddaughters to feed the ducks, I noticed on the other side of the road there was a field of tall grass that was quickly turning to hay and was a beautiful golden shade. I decided to take them back to this spot as the sun was going down. It was so nice! I was able to show them what you can do with a reflector and how to bounce light into a person’s eyes. My 5 year old granddaughter was holding the reflector when I took this photo of her 8 year old sister. Of course we reversed roles and the 8 year old held the reflector. She was doing pretty good at finding the sweet spot to bounce light on her sister’s face. I even let them try by themselves – each got a turn holding the reflector and taking shots of me!

This is one of my favorite photos from a mini session just as the sun was setting. The sun was reflecting off a truck parked in the driveway next door and threw some beautiful light on my subject. She has beautiful blue eyes, but I loved the way this one looked in B&W.

I love the “sweet light” of the sun going down, but then who doesn’t? :) I just happened to be out and saw this field near where I live bathed in the light of the setting sun. It ended up being a little off focus, so I decided to play with some LightRoom presets. This is what I ended up with. I like the way it took on the look of a painting.

I encountered a lot of these along a fairly short stretch of road today – in a small town that 35 years ago had only one traffic light, but now has a mall and several shopping centers. The road is being widened in what was once the middle of the town. Of course some people in Tennessee joke that this is our state bird because you see so many of them ….:)

We hit 80 degrees for the first time since last October. A sure sign of Spring is convertibles with the top down. This classic Chevelle belongs to one of the guys at my office. I”m sure the weather  made his drive to work much more enjoyable!
