It was a very nice 4th of July. I’m so glad I was born in the USA and I’m thankful for all that are fighting so that we can be free. I went to the “Fireworks Super Store” and bought a few sparklers for my granddaughters. That’s where I got the backlit shots of the flag. I grilled out, had a slice of watermelon for dessert, and watched some of the neighbors shoot some fireworks.

Having a little fun with Blackberries. Didn’t expect this, did you?

I was surprised to find these in the grocery store labeld as “locally grown” tomatoes. I’m just east of Nashville. Grainger County is northeast of Knoxville, which is about 200 miles from Nashville. I guess that’s closer to being local than tomatoes grown in California!

It’s blackberry time! You can see them growing in the wild around here. These were growing along a fence on a country road. I picked a few of the ripe ones then heard a bunch of bees start to get agitated, so I headed back to the car.

Mt. Juliet, TN is a small town that’s growing fast. I remember when it only had one traffic light. Now it has a mall, hotels, restaurants, and a French Cafe. Here’s a photo of some of the wine glasses at the bar. I’m saving the photos of the food for a blog post on the restaurant that will be coming soon!

One of the many reasons I love summer is the fresh fruit! Yes, these are some tastey strawberries!
