The flowers are fading. We are still having hot weather, signs of fall are all around. This is what my neighbor’s roses look like right now.

This hydrangea had beautifully dried blooms and the leaves are starting to turn a lovely shade of purple.

We’re starting to see the first signs of fall in middle Tennessee. Last week we had some wonderful fall like weather, but today the heat and humidity were back.

I’m not sure of the names of these – they may be blackeyed susans, but they are blooming in several neighbor’s yards. They look like a cross between a daisy and a sunflower to me.

I took a walk this morning as the sun was coming up. It has cooled off a little and I do believe I felt a hint of fall in the air.

It was 67 degrees here today! There were so many people in my neighborhood outside walking, playing, or working in their yards. I took my dog for a nice walk, cleaned out my flower bed, and then just sat in my glider and enjoyed the warm weather for a while. While I was sitting my the glider I happened to notice a pair of shoes I wore while working in the yard last year. They must have been muddy the last time I wore them because they were still outside….and still muddy!
