My friend’s cat usually hides when I’m around. It ventured out to take a look at the camera.

This is Rebel. He belongs to my daughter’s boyfriend. I think he’s the biggest cat I’ve ever seen. Apparently he doesn’t get a lot of exercise, but he does have pretty green eyes. :)

It was a very nice 4th of July. I’m so glad I was born in the USA and I’m thankful for all that are fighting so that we can be free. I went to the “Fireworks Super Store” and bought a few sparklers for my granddaughters. That’s where I got the backlit shots of the flag. I grilled out, had a slice of watermelon for dessert, and watched some of the neighbors shoot some fireworks.

Today I volunteered some of my time to photograph some of the dogs and cats at the New Leash on Life animal shelter in Lebanon, TN. It is a no kill shelter that tries to help dogs and cats find new homes. This is where I got my dog, Skipper, eight years ago. It has only recently become a no kill shelter. If anyone the Lebanon, TN area reads this and is looking for a pet, please consider one of the dogs or cats at New Leash on Life. I found them all to be furry babies looking for a permanent home and someone to love. I’ll post some more of their photos later this week.

This is Sally. She was a bit shy but quickly decided to share her toy mouse with me!

This is Walter. He is 10 years old and was brought in as a stray. He's a very loving dog that wants to spend his golden years in a permanent home.

I'm not sure what this dog's name is, but it was as gentle as a lamb and really wanted to play.
