I went to see the Chihuly glass exhibit at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens. If any of his work is ever close enough to you, go see it! It’s quiet impressive. The first photo is a close up showing the detail in “The Sun”.  The second is “Blue Herons”. The third is “Sunset Boat”.

I snapped this while sitting in stopped traffic. Wonder if the birds were amused watching the humans going nowhere?

I took two of my granddaughters to feed the ducks. I don’t know what kind this one is, but he seemed to be the “leader of the flock”. He seem to be ordering the other ducks around, but didn’t try to take the bread from them. I thought he had character because he was so different from the rest.

I spied this robin while I was out at lunch today. It was looking for lunch too, pecking in the ground looking for worms.

I pulled some weeds out of my flower bed this evening. I think the squirrels forgot about some of the acorns they hid. I pulled up over 20 oak tree “sprouts”. I found a few things I didn’t expect that were perfect for some macro shots. One was half of a robin’s egg. There was no sign of the other half and I have no idea where the nest might be. The other was a small patch of tiny mushrooms. I’m glad none of the neighbors saw me laying on the ground getting the shots of the mushrooms!

It was a beautiful Easter Sunday. I spent most of the day outside enjoying the warm weather and being thankful for all the wonderful people and things in my life. One of the simple pleasures of the day was the song this robin kept singing for me. It stayed perched in a tree near my patio for the longest time providing a beautiful serenade for a beautiful day.
