I took a walk this morning as the sun was coming up. It has cooled off a little and I do believe I felt a hint of fall in the air.

This was the only photo I took today. “Help wanted” in the window of a local cleaner. Is it a sign the economy is improving? I thought about asking what they paid…

As I passed by the dam today, I noticed water was being released from all three spillways. I decided to go to the lower side of the dam and get a few photos. I could feel the spray in the parking lot – and the fish smell filled the air. Back in May when we had the record flooding, the water was over the walls showing on each side of the photo. (See Day 124 for comparison). There are people fishing on the bottom left of the photo near the red sign. Gives you an idea of the scale and just how much water there was during the May flooding.

My dog was having a fit at the sliding glass door this morning. When I looked out I saw this little guy. He was sitting on the edge of the patio and looked like he was staring at my dog. He tried to retreat into his shell when I opened the door. I got a few shots before he turned and quickly started across the back yard. He looked a lot like the turtle from Day170, but had red eyes instead of brown. He was moving faster than any turtle I’ve ever seen. Maybe he was afraid I was going to let the dog out again.

We had more rain this week and more flooding, but nothing like we had in May. After the storm on Saturday the sun and clear sky was reflected in this puddle in the road near my house.

Kevin Kubota presented a session at the Tennessee Professional Photographers Association annual convention. He challenged us to do an alphabet challenge to make us look at things in a different way. Here’s my alphabet.
