If you have an extra $4500 in your pocket and want to buy something no one else has, I can point you to the location of this. If your volunteer fire department is #63, they you really should take a look at this. I would imagine $4500 is a good deal for a fire engine!

The last of the school supplies series. All the supplies are leaving my table and heading to my granddaughters. School starts for them next week. Seems like it is earlier every year.

Not sure school supplies will top yesterday’s lightning shots, but I’m still having fun. Here’s #3 in the series. I’ll have to get all this stuff off my table pretty soon. :) I always stock up on spiral notebooks when they are on sale so cheap. They make great drawing notebooks for the girls throughout the year and help save my printer paper!

I was planning on a series of photos of school supplies this week, but the weather changed that for me this evening. We had scattered thunderstorms and a tornado warning. When the warning came on TV, the weather person also mentioned how much lightning there was with the storms. It wasn’t raining at my house yet, but the thunder was rolling and there was a lot of lightning – most of it “soft, scattered” lightning in the clouds…reminded me of light from a softbox at times. :)

The best view of the sky is from my driveway because of all the surrounding trees. There was lots of thunder and lightning, but only a little rain. I ended up taking 53 shots trying to get a good one of the lightning. Here’s the two best ones. The camera was on the tripod, set at f16, ISO 200, bulb setting. I got a lot of shots of dark sky, but I’m pretty pleased with the two below.

My five year old granddaughter’s kindergarten teacher must be planning on a lot of sticky projects. The supply list states four bottles of glue for each child. Of course I know how quickly you can run out of glue if you have a lot of paper pieces, macaroni, or sparkly things to glue onto a project! :)  I liked the reflection of the glue bottle in the plastic on the notebook paper.

This time of year, several of the stores in my area run really good sales on school supplies. Spiral notebooks, .15, 24 count box of Crayola crayons for .25, glue for .25. I always stock up so my granddaughters have new crayons, pencils, and plenty of paper when they come to visit. All the supplies I bought them yesterday have inspired a series. I like how the bokeh came out on this one.
